I awoke to find a nurse holding my hand - she said a year had passed since I saw her last. I quickly asked her what had happened. She laughed, and said, shaking her head, "that's what she said". Then she let me out onto the street, even though I was in pain with nothing lost and nothing gained.
Even though I was in mortal pain, with nothing lost and nothing gained, I would never be the same.
It took me weeks to remember who I was, another year would pass, 'til I reached the last paragraph. Then I remember the crash! I was on the passenger side after she entered my life! And we just couldn't walk away, even though we were in pain with nothing lost and nothing gained.
Even though we were in mortal pain with nothing lost and nothing gained, we would never be the same.
Trying to remember what I previously tried to forget, reverse psychology, don't think I have a forward gear yet. Every single scene I make to the very last take is sideways, some days don't think I'll ever move away from that day - lost virginity, gained naivity, same old story, the Nativity, noone to thank, memory blank, except for the crash, I remember the crash.
